Traditional Meets Interactive

In the traditional model of learning, the teacher/speaker talks while the class/audience listens. The irony is that when a group of knowledgeable professionals gathers together, they collectively have more knowledge than any one speaker ever could!

That’s why, at Big Valley 2.0—The “Unconference,” we’re offering you a two-track option: a traditional conference track with PowerPoint presentations, and a less-structured track for more interactive discussions.

Speakers for the traditional track will be encouraged to personalize the content to best fit your needs. Facilitators will be present for the less-structured track to encourage a spirited and meaningful exchange of information on topics you will be able to choose. Through this method, we can tap into all of that collective knowledge—so everyone benefits! We will even utilize some unconventional venues, such as a historic adobe home near the conference center and hotels, to encourage a better exchange of ideas.

These changes are designed with you in mind, so tell us: what do you think about the less-structured track being available this year? Are you excited about it, or do you prefer a traditional track? Click on the "Comments" link to post
your thoughts.
